  • U11 Boys Football

Tue 10 Mar 2026 Mrs Sawyer

The U11 boys’ football team were in action yesterday in their second-round Owain Richards Cup match against Rushmere Primary School, a very organised and skilful side.

The first half did not quite go our way and we conceded two goals. However, the Bramford boys showed great determination and never gave up. Their hard work paid off when they scored a fantastic goal, chipping the keeper and keeping their hopes very much alive going into the second half.

The team returned after the break knowing they needed two goals to reach the quarter-finals – and they delivered. One goal came from a well-worked corner, and the other was a powerful strike straight into the back of the net. Suddenly the momentum was with us and it became our game to hold on to.

The whole match was exciting to watch.  In final minutes were no exception when a penalty was awarded to Rushmere. Our goalkeeper stepped up brilliantly, making a confident and professional save to keep us ahead. The match finished 3–2 to Bramford, securing a well-earned place in the quarter-finals.

As a school, we are extremely proud of the boys who took part. They showed resilience, teamwork and great sportsmanship throughout the match and represented applying their ACE particles.

Well done to everyone involved - parents who as always supported enthusiastically from the side lines and Mr Vickers for his expertise.

Even more excitingly, both our U11 boys’ and girls’ teams have now reached the quarter-finals. We are looking forward to more exciting matches ahead!

  • Girls Football!

Tue 10 Mar 2026 Mrs Sawyer

Our Bramford Year 5 girls had a fantastic time and represented the school brilliantly throughout Monday afternoon's U10s football event. They showed great enthusiasm, teamwork and determination in all of their matches. Overall, the team had a very successful afternoon, winning three games, drawing one and narrowly losing one.

They supported one another, worked hard, and showed great sportsmanship throughout.  Most importantly, the girls enjoyed the experience and should be very proud of how they played and represented the school.  An ACE job - well done everyone involved: Mrs Harden, parents and grandparents for their time, cheering and support throughout the afternoon.

  • ⚽️ U8s Girls Football Festival ⚽️

Mon 09 Mar 2026 Mrs Sawyer

ur U8 girls took part in a football festival on Friday and showed fantastic enthusiasm throughout the afternoon. For many of them it was their first time playing in a festival, so they were understandably a little nervous at the start. However, once they scored a couple of goals their confidence quickly grew.

    Results: Won 3 | Drew 2 | Lost 1

The girls supported one another brilliantly, took turns being a substitute, and demonstrated excellent team spirit in every game. Their positive attitude and willingness to keep trying were a great example of our ACE values.

A huge well done to all of the girls for representing the school so positively.

Thank you to Mrs Harden for supporting the team on Friday afternoon, and to the parents for their help with transport and encouragement.

  • Our Year 6 Owls Learning update!

Tue 03 Mar 2026 Mrs Sawyer

In year 6, we have been beginning to explore our new book ‘The Last Bear’, with the children applying descriptive language from this to their writing. We have also been investigating Charles Darwin’s concept of evolution in reading; we have been studying graphs in maths.

Within our afternoon learning, we have started to look at light, as this terms science unit, and continued our investigation into space within our topic lessons.

The children have enjoyed their golden time and continue to strive to achieve it.

  • Girls U11s Bramford VS Whitehouse

Tue 03 Mar 2026 Mrs Sawyer

This afternoon our fantastic U11s Girls football team travelled away to play a cup match against Whitehouse Primary School, and what a match it turned out to be!

From the very first whistle, the girls showed brilliant teamwork, encouraging one another and playing with smiles on their faces. It’s always wonderful to see how much they support each other on and off the ball.

We got off to a strong start, taking the lead with a superbly taken goal that found the back of the Whitehouse net. The team worked tirelessly, passing well and defending confidently. Just before half time, Whitehouse managed to equalise, making it 1–1 at the break.

There were no signs of disappointment from our girls. Instead, they regrouped, stayed positive and knew that if they wanted to win, they needed to keep pushing forward. Their determination paid off in the second half as they scored two more fantastic goals, sealing a well-deserved 3–1 victory!

It was a huge success and a brilliant team performance from start to finish. The girls should be incredibly proud of themselves for their effort, resilience and sportsmanship.

As always, a huge thank you to all of our wonderful parents for their continued support — cheering from the side lines and helping with transport to the away match. Your encouragement makes such a difference to the team. Thank you also to Mr Vickers for giving his time, guidance and valuable strategy to help the girls perform at their very best.

We’re through to the next round of the cup — exciting times ahead! Who will we play next? Watch this space!

  • Bramford Bastketball

Thu 12 Feb 2026 Mrs Sawyer

Twelve of our Year 6 attended the U11s school games basketball tournament on Tuesday afternoon. The year 6s played a total of four games, the first half of the game being played by the girls and the second half being played by the boys.

The children were so supportive of everyone in team Bramford and it was lovely to hear their words of encouragement and support as they cheered on their peers! They followed the rules of basketball and played fairly, shaking the hands of the opposing team at the end of every match! They understood that the tournament wasn’t just about winning and thoroughly enjoyed taking part. They were a pleasure to accompany and did the school very proud! Well done team Bramford!

  • U11s Boys (Bramford vs St Mary’s Primary School): 1–0

Mon 09 Feb 2026 Mrs Sawyer

The boys played at home against St Mary’s Primary School and secured a well-deserved 1–0 victory. The goal came in the first half following good attacking play, and the team showed strong organisation and commitment for the remainder of the match. There were chances for both sides, but Bramford's defence remained solid and the goalkeeper made several important saves to maintain the lead. It was a true team performance, with good communication and control at the back contributing to a deserved win.  Congratulations boys!

Both teams are ACE and represented our school extremely well.

  • U11s Girls (Bramford vs St Mary’s Primary School): 1–3

Mon 09 Feb 2026 Mrs Sawyer

The girls played at home against a strong St Mary’s Primary School side and showed great resilience throughout the match. Although they went into half-time 3–0 down, the team battled back well in the second half, scoring a goal and putting sustained pressure on the opposition. The girls worked hard together against some very skilled players and demonstrated excellent teamwork and determination. The match was played in a fair and sporting manner.  Well done girls!

  • Frogs Learning Update!

Thu 05 Feb 2026 Mrs Sawyer

Frogs have had fun over the past week in PE and have continued to work well together. We have been creating our own shapes, planning the level of our movements; high, medium and low, this has enabled us to begin to form our own dancing sequences. A lovely social activity working in groups for Science. We talked about shadows and UV rays and made our own shape pictures to test the sun's rays. We are excited to see if the paper will change colour! We have practised using our dictionaries to find the meaning of new words related to our new book Viking Voyagers. In IT we have continued to learn coding to enable characters to move on route and change their designs!

  • U11 Boys and Girls Football League latest match report - AWAY game at St John's Primary School

Tue 03 Feb 2026 Mrs Sawyer

Both the boys and girls U11 football teams were once again in action yesterday afternoon, this time away at St John's Primary.  Both teams had great work rate throughout their matches. The opposition team were very hard to break down but both sets of Bramford players didn't give up and kept going until the end.

Unfortunately this time both teams lost on this occasion.  With exactly the same scoreline 6:0.

Every player should be proud of themselves.  They showed skill and determination both individually and as a team.  Bramford were gracious in their defeats.  We are very proud of your efforts  and abilities just as we always are.

A big thank-you to our parent supporters and transporters, and to Mr Vickers for his time and coaching of both teams with encouraging game plan throughout.
