Music

Being a Musician or Composer

Our music curriculum aims to engage and inspire our pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, and so increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement.

Our vision for music is reflected through our ACE Values and particles. Our pupils enjoy singing and learning, performing and composing music using a variety of instruments. This includes percussion, recorders, guitars and ukuleles. Pupils listen to different styles of music from different eras and learn about the key features within these. Pupils sing together for performances such as services at the local church or drama productions.

Our Bramford school choir and our and instrumentalists (which include pupils from various year groups) have also joined together with the choir and instrumentalists from our partner school, Somersham, to perform as a Federation at Snape Maltings for ‘A Celebration of Schools’ Music.’  Together we are ACE!

Music is taught or supported at our school by a specialist music teacher.

Key questions for pupils in music:

Performing - Can I perform accurately?

Composing - Can I create my own pieces of music?

Listening - Can I listen carefully to different types of music and comment on music through History?
