• Year 5 & 6 Share Their Writing

  The Year 5 and 6 classes recently got together to share their writing with each other. It was a great opportunity to learn from each other.

   

  The Year 5s showed active listening - taking notes and asking questions - and the Year 6s acted as great peers, encouraging and supporting others through focused dialogue. Well done to all involved!

  World Book Day book sale 📚✨

  We had our very own school book sale at the end of the day on Thursday to help us to celebrate World Book Day. Our book sale was run by the HSA who were selling some of our old library books to make way for new books! The books were sold for 10p each so that everyone had a chance to purchase one (or more!). I can reveal that from the book sale we made a grand total of £46.80! Thank you to all involved in helping with the book sale.

  World Book Day 📚🌟✨⭐

  There was an amazing atmosphere in the school on Thursday as the children came to school dressed as their favourite book characters. 

   

  This year we challenged the children to be eco friendly and home make their costumes instead of buying one. It was clear to see that everyone had made such a big effort to reuse and recycle in order to put their costume together. We enjoyed seeing everyone's costumes during our morning parade and also enjoyed an assembly together. Even Sophie our therapy dog made an effort as she arrived at school as 'spot' the dog! We even had a competition for the best homemade costumes in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 who received a book prize for their efforts. 

   

  The day also consisted of a 'footy booky quiz' for KS2, sharing our favourite stories and sharing stories with different year groups - EYFS and KS1 really enjoyed being read to by the KS2 children! We even had a school book sale at the end of the day where children could go and buy a book for 10p! 

  

• Tree planting inspired poetry

  Henry was inspired to write this fantastic poem following our tree planting day at school. He shared it with the whole school during assembly and was excited for it to be published on our school website. Well done Henry - your poem is ACE.
