  • Our Year 6 Owls Learning update!

Tue 03 Mar 2026 Mrs Sawyer

In year 6, we have been beginning to explore our new book ‘The Last Bear’, with the children applying descriptive language from this to their writing. We have also been investigating Charles Darwin’s concept of evolution in reading; we have been studying graphs in maths.

Within our afternoon learning, we have started to look at light, as this terms science unit, and continued our investigation into space within our topic lessons.

The children have enjoyed their golden time and continue to strive to achieve it.

  • Girls U11s Bramford VS Whitehouse

Tue 03 Mar 2026 Mrs Sawyer

This afternoon our fantastic U11s Girls football team travelled away to play a cup match against Whitehouse Primary School, and what a match it turned out to be!

From the very first whistle, the girls showed brilliant teamwork, encouraging one another and playing with smiles on their faces. It’s always wonderful to see how much they support each other on and off the ball.

We got off to a strong start, taking the lead with a superbly taken goal that found the back of the Whitehouse net. The team worked tirelessly, passing well and defending confidently. Just before half time, Whitehouse managed to equalise, making it 1–1 at the break.

There were no signs of disappointment from our girls. Instead, they regrouped, stayed positive and knew that if they wanted to win, they needed to keep pushing forward. Their determination paid off in the second half as they scored two more fantastic goals, sealing a well-deserved 3–1 victory!

It was a huge success and a brilliant team performance from start to finish. The girls should be incredibly proud of themselves for their effort, resilience and sportsmanship.

As always, a huge thank you to all of our wonderful parents for their continued support — cheering from the side lines and helping with transport to the away match. Your encouragement makes such a difference to the team. Thank you also to Mr Vickers for giving his time, guidance and valuable strategy to help the girls perform at their very best.

We’re through to the next round of the cup — exciting times ahead! Who will we play next? Watch this space!
