Bramford CEVC
Primary School
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Twelve of our Year 6 attended the U11s school games basketball tournament on Tuesday afternoon. The year 6s played a total of four games, the first half of the game being played by the girls and the second half being played by the boys.
The children were so supportive of everyone in team Bramford and it was lovely to hear their words of encouragement and support as they cheered on their peers! They followed the rules of basketball and played fairly, shaking the hands of the opposing team at the end of every match! They understood that the tournament wasn’t just about winning and thoroughly enjoyed taking part. They were a pleasure to accompany and did the school very proud! Well done team Bramford!
The boys played at home against St Mary’s Primary School and secured a well-deserved 1–0 victory. The goal came in the first half following good attacking play, and the team showed strong organisation and commitment for the remainder of the match. There were chances for both sides, but Bramford's defence remained solid and the goalkeeper made several important saves to maintain the lead. It was a true team performance, with good communication and control at the back contributing to a deserved win. Congratulations boys!
Both teams are ACE and represented our school extremely well.
The girls played at home against a strong St Mary’s Primary School side and showed great resilience throughout the match. Although they went into half-time 3–0 down, the team battled back well in the second half, scoring a goal and putting sustained pressure on the opposition. The girls worked hard together against some very skilled players and demonstrated excellent teamwork and determination. The match was played in a fair and sporting manner. Well done girls!
Frogs have had fun over the past week in PE and have continued to work well together. We have been creating our own shapes, planning the level of our movements; high, medium and low, this has enabled us to begin to form our own dancing sequences. A lovely social activity working in groups for Science. We talked about shadows and UV rays and made our own shape pictures to test the sun's rays. We are excited to see if the paper will change colour! We have practised using our dictionaries to find the meaning of new words related to our new book Viking Voyagers. In IT we have continued to learn coding to enable characters to move on route and change their designs!
Both the boys and girls U11 football teams were once again in action yesterday afternoon, this time away at St John's Primary. Both teams had great work rate throughout their matches. The opposition team were very hard to break down but both sets of Bramford players didn't give up and kept going until the end.
Unfortunately this time both teams lost on this occasion. With exactly the same scoreline 6:0.
Every player should be proud of themselves. They showed skill and determination both individually and as a team. Bramford were gracious in their defeats. We are very proud of your efforts and abilities just as we always are.
A big thank-you to our parent supporters and transporters, and to Mr Vickers for his time and coaching of both teams with encouraging game plan throughout.
