Bramford CEVC
Primary School
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
The boys came out strong and in great form, keeping their shape from the very start. The first goal was an incredible long-range strike coming all the way from our own goalkeeper! Going 1–0 up gave the team a huge boost of confidence, and by half-time Bramford were leading 3–0.
In the second half, St Mark’s began to mount a comeback, but we held our defence well. The match finished 3–2 in our favour, securing our place in the second round.
Congratulations to the whole team! There skill and determination won through today. An ACE result! A big thank-you to our parent and peer supporters, to Mr Vickers for coaching and refereeing the match, and to Mrs Harvey for her coaching and encouraging presence on the sideline.
What a fantastic day - Year 5 and 6 travelled back in time to an Anglo-Saxon village. The children learnt lots of interesting facts such as how the farmhouse had lots of animal skins to keep warm and make clothes. They enjoyed looking through all the replica houses and exploring the land and finding out how it was used. Everyone showed ACE behaviour and had brilliant listening skills
A fantastically ACE performance from the Bramford U11s Girls yesterday in their Girls Cup clash against Springfield Juniors!
The team came out strong, scoring the opening goal within the first 10 minutes. Springfield managed to equalise before half-time, leaving everything to play for in the second half.
The girls showed brilliant teamwork, determination, and energy after the break—and their hard work paid off with a well-deserved second goal. They held on to secure the win and book their place in the second round!
Well done, girls! On to the next round!
We have been working on a variety of PE activities. For the first few weeks we worked with tags. We have learnt to use different passes. In netball we know that when we have the ball we keep our feet still. We know more about the positions and have become better at shooting and defending.
On Monday, we had a very special visit from Winston, who travelled across the seas on the Windrush in 1948 from Jamaica. He shared with us why the journey happened, what life was like in Britain at that time for the Windrush generation, and the challenges they faced. Winston encouraged us to think deeply about the idea that we are one human race with many different cultures—something to be celebrated and respected. His stories helped us understand the importance of inclusion, kindness, and valuing the experiences of others. It was a really interesting visit, and we hope the children went home excited to share what they learned with their adults!
Eight Year 4 children attended a dodgeball tournament Friday morning and Wow what a high paced, fun morning they had! As each game was played, it was lovely to see their confidence and enjoyment grow. The team demonstrated excellent determination, team spirit and ACE sportsmanship. Well done to you all.
A huge well done to our Year 6 boys who represented Bramford in yesterday’s U11 football tournament. Despite the very cold temperatures and wind chill factor, the team showed fantastic determination across all five matches against primary schools from Ipswich and the surrounding villages. Their ACE enthusiasm, skill, and excellent team spirit were evident throughout the afternoon. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and sportsmanship—well done, team!
Thank you to Mr Vickers for coaching the team throughout the afternoon's tough matches and the supportive parents who transported and spectated in the freezing weather too.
Magpies class enjoyed a fabulous day 'Taking over' Christchurch Mansion. Everyone had a go at 'Meeting and Greeting', writing labels for exhibits (which will hopefully be printed up and in use in the New Year), cleaning the rooms, handling exhibits and helping to conserve some exhibits.
All the children were ACE and represented our school brilliantly.
A group of our Year 5 children had an ACE time at the School Games Ten Pin Bowling event on Wednesday. They played alongside pupils from other local primary schools, showing great enthusiasm and skill throughout their two games of bowling —cheering and supporting one another, and generally having lots of fun.
Both our U11s Girls and Boys teams kicked off their league campaigns this Thursday afternoon against Holbrook Primary, showing great enthusiasm, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout.
The U11 Boys worked tirelessly in what proved to be a tightly contested game. Despite creating some strong attacking chances, they were unfortunate not to find the back of the net. As the light began to fade late in the match, Holbrook managed to secure two goals, ending the game 2–0 in Holbrook’s favour. The boys should be proud of their determination and effort in this first outing of the season.
Meanwhile, the U11 Girls started their league journey in spectacular fashion, demonstrating excellent passing, communication, and finishing skills. Their hard work paid off in a commanding 10–0 victory over Holbrook. Every player contributed to a strong team performance, setting an exciting tone for the rest of the season.
Well done to both teams for representing Bramford with such energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We look forward to seeing how both squads continue to grow and develop as the season progresses!
