The children in Foxes and Woodpeckers have been immersed in the magic of winter as they explored the snowy weather outdoors. Our youngest learners delighted in the sensory experience of snow — feeling its texture, noticing how it melts, and using descriptive language to talk about what they could see, hear, and feel. They experimented with mark‑making in the snow, observed footprints, prints left by snow angels and the feeling the crunch under their feet.

Year 1 children continued thinking further about the winter weather by creating  list of adjectives to describe the snow and ice such as 'sparkly', 'frozen' and 'soft' which they then used to create a piece of writing about the winter weather.
